HIRAES | Live in Berlin On 22.08.2026, HIRAES bring their melodic death metal to Urban Spree, Berlin. HIRAES formed in 2020 when four instrumentalists from Lower Saxony's Dawn of Disease joined forces with vocalist Britta Görtz (Critical Mess, ex-Cripper). The name is taken from the Welsh word "hiraeth" – a deep longing for a home or place that may never have existed – and that sense of melancholy defines the band's sound. Their debut Solitary (2021, Napalm Records) was produced by Jens Bogren (Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Amorphis) at Fascination Street Studios; sophomore album Dormant followed in 2024. Across both, HIRAES build their identity on intense melodies, charging guitars, hymn-like choruses and Görtz's growls and screams – melodic death metal in the Scandinavian tradition with its own melancholic signature.
